Habibollah Latifi's Family arrested



Sunday December 26th, 2010 - According to HRANA security forces raided the house of Habibollah Latifi's father in Sanandaj at 10:00pm on Sunday, searching the premises, confiscating material and arresting all those present.

According to reports received from locals at around 10:00pm on Sunday night, security forces raided the house of the father of Habibollah Latifi, Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death. Latifi was originally scheduled to be hanged on Sunday morning, but his death sentence was postponed. After raiding the house, searching the premises and confiscating material, security forces arrested those present.

It is worth mentioning that reports indicate that more than 30 security forces were present at Latifi's father's house. They confiscated a computer and arrested the family members and another individual who happened to be at their residence.

Local witnesses and other unconfirmed sources report that everyone present was arrested and taken to an undisclosed location. HRANA is further investigating this matter and will provide more details as it becomes available.

Habibollah Latifi is a political prisoner sentenced to death currently incarcerated at the central prison in Sanandaj. His execution scheduled for 6:30am on Sunday December 26th and later postponed was met with strong protest by Iranian citizens both inside Iran and abroad.
