Honorable Secretary of the United Nation;

Mr Ban Ki-Moon,

Greeting and respect:

Based on published evidence and information that is of public domain, there is no social and legal protection of whatsoever nature in Islamic republic of Iran. Numerous policing and secret services organisation each following their brutal method of detaining people with no just cause and no chance of justice and using services of lawyer make this system a manner that leads no legal and social protection for every individual and no one has security and legal protection. As a result, the number of Iranian citizens for various reasons such as religion, membership in a social groups and having a political opinion, have been forced legally or illegally to leave Iranian territory and forced to take refuge in another country so that their return to Iran will leads to be prosecuted or liberty negation and they will be unsecured. They have applied for asylum in different countries such as Turkey and Greece and they are in a very terrible and horrible situation are waiting for the answer of the refugee high commissar and bound countries but unfortunately till now they have been unable to have the refuge's rights which is  recognised on the international treaties and regulations.

According to the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran specially the events that happened after the presidential election, which is indication of lack of security for many social rights and political rights activist and also ordinary people, every Iranian have right to live in a safe and secure place without governmental pressure.

On the other hand the countries which are members of united nation are obliged to accept the refugees but unfortunately in many situations acceptation of their cases are taking a long time and in spite of the clear and acceptable justification in some cases they are being refused. While on the human rights statement and following refugee situation protocol approved on 31st of January 196, the international agreement approved on 1966, the living right and individuals safety, forbidding of any torture and behaving opposite of human prestige, the transit right, freedom of choosing of living place and enjoyment of all rights and freedoms for every individual is recognized and the organizations under united nation’s surveillance such as refugee’s matter high commissar are responsible for the execution of international treaties and regulations and also are obliged for safety and finding the prestige and initial rights of refugees.

Whereas Iranian with acceptable reasons are living in the different countries in a very unsuitable situation and need support and help to be accepted as a refugee, please look into refugees’ matters by the countries member of united nation as soon as possible so refugees could live where they wish and they safe. Obviously the long process of looking after to refugees’ matter is against the law and it is a torture for refugees.

Best regards,

Mohammad Mostafaei: lawyer of Human Rights

Samos is one of the Greek island off the Turkish coast. At the closest point, you have the feeling you can easily touch the other side if you stretch your arm a little. Not surprisingly, many refugees and migrants attempt to cross the border to the European Union here with small boats.

Because of all this, there will be a noborder weekend in Samos from the 27th to the 29th of August, with the aim of protesting the current treatment of the migrants, the presence and practices of Frontex and to continue a discussion in the local society about racism and the obligation to welcome migrants, not detain them. Join us!
